One of the most common faults in the house is a crane breakage in the bathroom. This is largely due to its frequent use. Just imagine what volumes of water pass through it daily. But the causes of the breakdown can be the most different.
The main causes of breakdowns
During the operation of water crane, various malfunctions may occur:
- A loose closure of the valves (dripping or flowing water);
- Weak water pressure even with fully open valves;
- Gul from an open crane;
- Fault switch "Crane-shower" (water flows simultaneously from the crane and from the soul).
There are two main causes of such faults:

To replace the extended parts in the old sample crane, it is necessary:
- Close the valves of cold hot and water to enter the pipes in the apartment, open the mixer and release the remnants of water by removing the residual pressure.
- Remove the decorative caps from the cranes knobs, unscrew the bolts that hold the handles, remove the handles.
- To unscrew the key to unscrew the crane tap, rotating it counterclockwise.
To repair the leaking crane, it is necessary to replace the rubber seal of the tap of the tap. Most often, the seal is attached to the crane-tape screw, it must be revealed to reveal it with a screwdriver.

Sometimes the leakage of the mixer is associated with the hit between the discs of the cartridge of small grains or rust particles. In this case, it is necessary to disassemble the cartridge if it is provided for by its design, and flush parts of the water jet.
To replace the cartridge in the mixer of the new sample, it is necessary:
- Close the valves of cold hot and water to enter the pipes in the apartment, open the mixer and release the remnants of water by removing the residual pressure.
- In the front of the mixer handle, push the screwdriver and remove the decorative plug.
- Unscrew the locking screw under the discontinued plug, remove the mixer handle from the cartridge rod. If there is a protective case - remove it.
- The cartridge is pressed to the mixer body with a wide nut. It must be unscrewed by pliers.
- After unscrewing the presser nut, you must, gently pulling the rod, remove the cartridge.

The leakage of the switch "Crane-Shower"
In the mixers, two types of "crane-shower" switches are used: rod (push) and balls (swivel).
You need to change the "crane-shower" switch if the water is both the tap and out of the shower.
The process of replacing the switch is similar to the replacement of crane-bux:
- Close the valves of cold hot and water to enter the pipes in the apartment, open the mixer and release the remnants of water by removing the residual pressure.
- Remove the decorative lining, unscrew the holding bolt, remove the knob of the switch.
- Unscrew the switch rotating it counterclockwise.
- Replace switch or gasket on it and collect the mixer in the reverse order.
Prevention of leaks - installation of trunk filters
As we have already written, one of the main reasons for the appearance of faults of mixers is low-quality tap water. Due to the wornity of communications, rust particles, grappiness appear in water, turbidity appears. All this accelerates the wear of moving parts of the mixer, and maybe they are completely jammed.
For waterproofing, extension of the resource of mixers and household appliances (washing and dishwashers), trunk filters of water purge filters are used.
Filters are installed immediately after the valves and counters at the entrance of the pipes and filter the entire water entering the apartment. In addition to cleaning from suspended particles, a trunk filter can soften water and remove an excessive iron from it.
For hot and cold water, the filter designs differ. Pay attention to the label when purchasing and installing them. Also, when choosing a filter, please note whether you will install it on a horizontal or vertical section of the pipe - not all models can work in both positions.
Repair of other minor troubleshooting
In addition to water leaks, the mixers are subject to other damage. For example, may decrease water pressure from them . Most often, such a breakdown is associated with the contamination of the aerator.

To clean the aerator you need:
- Remove the aerator from the crane by turning the hand clockwise. If the hand slides - wrap the aerator with a cloth and try again. If you use the tool - put rubber gaskets so as not to damage the chrome surface.
- Remove the meshes of aerator. To do this, gently click on them from the outside.
- Rinse the meshes of the aerator under the water jet. Large particles of the contaminant can be removed by a pin or thin seer.
- Collect aerator and install on the crane, without tightening it too much.
Another frequent problem - Water leakage at the junction of hussak with the mixer body . To eliminate it, you must twist the hussak fastening nut. If the leakage remains - you need to remove the hussak and replace the rubber seal at the junction. When tightening the hussak fastening nut, you need to use rubber linings under the adjustable key so as not to scratch the surface of the nut.
When parsing the mixer may find out that some details "bought" to each other and do not rotate. Try to lubricate them with a special fluid WD-40. It will dissolve rust, it will turn out moisture, allows you to disassemble the mixer without damaging it.
