Calculation of doors of the cabinet coupe: how to calculate the filling and size of the doors of the Aristo, Versailles and others

To properly make the manufacture of doors for the wardrobes, you need to choose the optimal combination of sizes - widths and heights. For this, there are standard relations.

Sizes, width, height

Multifunctionality, convenience and style of external solutions of modern wardrobes are no longer questioned. In modern apartments, the availability of such built-in furniture allows the most optimal use of residential space of the room, get rid of the need for a long and thorough selection of furniture items. Of particular importance is attached to the appearance of built-in furniture. Therefore, the manufacture of doors for cabinets and the quality of their subsequent assembly largely determines the unity of the interior style of the room.

Production of doors for cabinets with a door mechanism is most often made from the following materials:

  • Fiberboard
  • MDF,
  • Chipboard.

Fiberboard (wood-fibrous plates) is made by pressing woodworking waste. A variety of synthetic resins are added to fill there. The material is characterized by low moisture resistance, so for furniture intended for installation in bathrooms, it is not used.

MDF (from the English medium density fibreboard, wood-fibrous medium density plates) are formed as a result of gluing wood fibers with carbamide modified resins at elevated temperatures and pressures.

MDF-slabs are distinguished by high strength and moisture resistance (including at elevated temperatures). This expands the domestic applicability of the material;

Chipboard (chipboard) are most common as a material for door canvases. It is made from extruded large waste of woodworking (chips, sawdust), which for filling the binder is added - thermosetting synthetic resin. It turns out very durable, durable and at the same time sufficiently inexpensive material. However, it is worse than the mechanical processing, in particular, cutting and drilling.

Definition of overall dimensions

Before the manufacture should calculate the optimal ratio of the main dimensions - the height and width of the product.

The standard row is usually determined by the height of the room in which their installation is assumed. More often use the following combinations of widths and heights:

Door leaf height, mmWidth of the door leaf, mm
2200.450, 500.
2400.600, 700, 800, 900, 1000

Making Cabinet Couples

The minimum width is determined by the considerations of proportionality: a narrow and high door will act unreliable and move. The empirical ratio, which have the size of the height (H) of the product to its width (W) must satisfy the following inequality: W> (0.25-0.3) n. Naturally, in principle there should be the upper limit of the specified relationship, but because it is determined solely by the convenience of opening and what the size of the wall is, then some rigid restrictions on this parameter are not installed.

Calculation of which sizes should be submitted on a specific example. Suppose that the required height of the furniture is H = 2500 mm, and the width of the existing MDF-sheet sh = 400 mm. The ratio of dimensions in this case will be sh / n = 400/2500 = 0.16. The ratio is not optimal, that is, the calculation shows: the door made according to these sizes will be in the opening of the selection, to move and, in the end, break the doorway.

There are two options: reduce the height of the product or increase the width of the door. If the consumer is fed by the sizes of the MDF sheet, then the highest height of the cabinet is Hmax = 400 / (0.25-0.3) = 1600-1333.3 (mm). If the starting point is to consider the need to withstand the height of the cabinet in 2500 mm, then the calculation of the width gives SMIN = 2500 × (0.25-0.3) = 625-750 (mm). By the way, the doubted value of the last parameter will give and exemplary dimensions in the width of the cabinet itself.

Thus, you can install the required number of sections. For example, if the wardrobe width is 2 × 750 = 1500 (mm) is insufficient in order to rationally embed a wardrobe in the wall (or the resulting wardrobe will be a good), then the number of sections are increased by one. Then the width of the product will already be sh = 3 × 750 = 2250 (mm).

If, with the calculated sizes of filling the wall, it did not happen or, on the contrary, its length is not enough, you can vary the width of the door web within the limits specified above. Let's say, having adopted a minimally appropriate width of 630 mm, with a three-panel door, we obtain enabaritis sh = 3 × 630 = 1890 (mm).

To determine which option is better, let us remember the rule of "golden section: the ratio of the external dimensions of the subject, which is most harmoniously perceived by the human eye, is 1.62: 1. Consequently, the closer the actual proportions will be to the given ratio, the better. The results of calculations give:

Two-door cabinet

  1. Two-door cabinet, with a height of 2500 and a total width of 1500 mm 1.67: 1.
  2. Three-door cabinet with height 2500 and a total width of 1890 mm 1.32: 1.

Obviously, the first option is closer to the "golden section".

There are some features of the calculation of doors for the "Aristo" and "Versailles" wardrobes.

Sliding systems "Aristo" - an inexpensive and reliable version of the design of built-in furniture. Available profile up to 3200 mm. The "Aristo" profiles are reliable and durable, since they are anodized by aluminum and may be subsequently covered with decorative gilding. The "Aristo" profile width is fundamentally limited. Therefore, it is quite acceptable to calculate such a door according to the method described above.

The sliding system "Versailles" is made using aluminum profiles of three varieties: "Versailles", "Versailles Light" and "Versailles-Elite". Profiles are available with glass and chipboard cloths. Depending on this, the overall dimensions should be chosen from 2250 × 2000 mm (glass) to 3250 × 2000 mm (chipboard). The calculation of the parameters for the Versailles system is performed similar to the order.
