Patchwork, or patchwork, at the same time originated almost all over the world. Initially, the goal was to save fabric and using its residues. But now this direction has become a real section of art. The products in this technique have become not only a beautiful decoration, they are also shown at exhibitions. One of the popular destinations was Japanese Patchwork, it is not more difficult for beginners than English.
The main difference serves as a stitch "Forward needles" and the use of silk instead of cotton. Still Japanese craftsmen never use sewing machines - they work exclusively manually, therefore they receive an individual and unique thing. In the English style, appliques are practically not used, but in Japan, this is a well-known technique.
Usal scope
Initially, the patchwork was used to fix clothes. But now you can meet many things in this technique. Designers make furniture, decorations, bags, sew the curtains and covers on the pillows. There are many schemes for which you can repeat the work of the masters.
To a separate variety, it is possible to attribute paintings from pieces of fabric. Sometimes the work is made so good that people confuse her with painting on silk. It is decorated with natural and geometric ornaments, houses and rice fields. Often the brushes are sewn around the edge.
Stitch Sashiko and Sewing Yoshese
One of the features was, as we mentioned, stitch. It was used initially only in Japanese patchwork. Called - Sashiko, it is a thin dotted stitch. All stitches should be the same length. They can be both contrasting and on monophonic fabric. The technique is used not only to connect the patchwork, but also for decoration.
In accordance with the religion of Shinto, any thing is animate. It passed this special attitude and on the fabric. A good silk for a Japanese woman was equivalent to decorations, so simple classs were not allowed to wear dear clothes. Then the shopping guilds came up to sew the pieces of good fabric. Severy fabric base (36 × 36 centimeters). Immediately decide which color scheme should be a finished product. For stuffing, take the synthetone (33 × 33 centimeters). The drawing will consist of six tissue strips (90 × 4).
By a pre-carved triangular cardboard template, build the drawing, leaving the half-meter of the allowance. You can navigate the photo or use your own option. Eight triangles should be equally chaped with an angle of 45 °. Fold the layout of napkins, sew and start.
