In this master class, we suggest you to make a completely ordinary subject, which is needed to every creative or business person, schoolboy and a student. This is a notebook. Making it we will be completely from scratch: from binding to the cover of genuine leather.
Materials
To make a notepad with a leather cover with your own hands, you will need:
- a piece of genuine leather;
- dense white copy paper;
- Needle with a big ear;
- Portnovsky chalk or pencil;
- durable thread;
- awl;
- sharp knife;
- Line.
Step 1 . Copy paper sheets you need to fold twice. Do not rush, make the folds carefully, so that the half of the sheet is identical to each other and did not look out for the edges of the main row.
Determine the number of sheets, repulscing from the desired notepad thickness. You do not need to cut the blanks.
Step 2. . Prepared sheets fold the stack and give all the heavy books. The latter will play the role of the press. To make sheets as needed, to hold them in this position it will be necessary for about an hour.
Step 3. . Take the Portnovo marker and the prepared stack of pages of the future notepad. Attach sheets to a piece of skin laid on the table. Circle them without forgetting about the battery on the notepad root.
Step 4. . According to the intended lines from the skin cut the cover.
Step 5. . Take the sewer and make the sheets in places where you will skip binding threads. Making punctures, be sure to check the elements among themselves. Holes should be located from the edge strictly at the same distance.
Step 6. . In the needle, the thread thread and sew the sheets among themselves. Alternate sequence of stitches you can see on the above photo process.
Step 7. . Now you will need to take a harvested cover from the skin and make punctures in it. To do this, also use the sewer and observe the distance between the holes.

Step 8. . Sew cover to the already existing binding. The threads initially take such that they coincide on the tone with the initial leather material or combined with it.
At the end of the process, it neatly tie the thread and cut the surplus so that they are not sticking out anywhere.
