Today I wanted to tell you about warm blankets despite almost summer weather, which we had.

Yes, and, as they say, prepare Sani in the summer! After all, it takes a lot of time on knitting plaid. By the way, my own pace is true for a long time, I knit just in the summer.
Preparation of yarn for the plaid
For the plaid, depending on its size, approximately 1.6 -2.5 kg of yarn will be required. We have - knitters of residuals of different yarn often accumulates quite a lot, here they can be used on the plaid. An old sweaters and pullovers can be used especially well, because not often, spreading them, we knit a new sweater. And the plaid is just wonderful!
But it should be borne in mind that such a striped plaid will look good only if you choose the right color: they must be harmonized with each other. It can be either only warm tones, or only cold, or different shades of the same color, and you can connect a bright plaid from the remains of the yarn of all the colors of the rainbow.

You can knit any yarn: woolen, half-walled, acrylic. You can even use the yarn of different textures, the plaid from such a different yarn will be particularly interesting.
It is only important that the yarn is the same thickness. Very subtle threads can be folded in two or three.
Since quite a lot of yarn is spent on a big plaid and you may not have such a number of residues suitable in color, it is better to buy a new yarn, and not to use any hand.

Reducing the old sweater, the yarn must be aligned. For this, I use a special tool for rewinding yarn. I rewind the treads from the tangle into large hundreds. Then I wash them, sushi and rewind in the clusters again.
If there is no such fixture, you can wipe the yarn around the stuffing legs, turning it up with the legs. And you can also ask to help a member of your family keep shifts of yarn on the elongated hands, as our great-grandmothers did. True, the last two ways are not very comfortable.
Therefore, I propose another, not requiring rewinding and back, but only rewind from a tangle in the ball: put boil water into the kettle, it is enough to fill the kettle on half, leave on slow heat. Stretch the end of the thread through the spout of the kettle and the top hole for the lid. During the rewind of yarn in another tank, the thread over the ferry will straighten.

We decided on the yarn, the hook we select the thickness of the yarn, respectively, is suitable for the planes with a number 2.5 - 4.5. Always advise, do not follow the blindly written, pick the hook so that it is convenient to knit so that the canvas did not work too loose and too dense, tight.
