For the plaid crochet from the motives, I tried to connect the sample. Used the remains of a semi-wool yarn of yellow, pink, blue and raspberry color, hook №4.

At first I tied the motive of yellow and pink roses. But something could not imagine what a plaid would turn out. And when you knit the second motif of the shirt of blue and raspberry color, I understood that a lot depends on the choice of the color of the yarn.
Plaid in brighter saturated tones will look much more beautiful than plaid from bright pale yarn.
You need to associate several motifs from the rings, connecting them in the process of knitting with each other in one row. (I joined the rings with a narrow side to see how it will look like, on the original photo of the plaid of the rings are connected to the short side of them. Experiment, choose the option that you will like).
The finished rows of the rings according to the Pill pattern should be combined with each other with a knitting of several rows of the mesh: arches from 5-6 air loops.
I think that the plaid can be done differently: do not knit a mesh, but to connect rows with rings between themselves in the process of knitting, placing the motifs from the rings in a checker order so that the gap between them is less.
