How to make a blank for hats with your own hands
As we all know, the caps for the hats are not cheap, if you bought a blank, after a while you begin to understand that the blanks you need different sizes.
When I started to blame the caps and hats for myself, I thought the boobs need a lot and different. But then I was given something to me, my students (not a valyself), something I bought cheaply from our own students. However, it turned out that I only use a blank called "Tumba". And when I once ordered a big hat with a round tulley, I came up with how to make a blank myself.
So, let's begin.
You will need :
- Watman length leaf
- Rubber inflatable ball,
- Gypsum bandage 3 pieces,
- Mounting silicone sealant, preferably moisture resistant,
- Mounting foam.
From tools:
- Gun for silicone sealant (foam is usually sold with a nozzle),
- latex gloves,
- stationery knife,
- scissors,
- Small capacity for wetting bandage.
Inflation rubber ball. Its circle should be 4 cm. Less circumference of your blanks.
If, let's say, you need a disc on size 56 (head circumference), so the ball must be inflated to 52 cm.
From the watman sheet, cut a strip of 2 cm long. More than the length of the circle, that is, in this case, 54 cm.
SM.12-15 width. Not more.
Recovering 2 cm. From the edge, we carry out a pencil line. The second edge of the paper strip we combine in the pencil line and glue.
On the resulting cylinder with a circle 52 cm. We place our ball on top. We press it into a paper cylinder until we get the shape of the blanks.
Inside the cylinder you need to put a jar into which the ball will rest.
It is necessary in order to then, under the severity of plaster bandages, the ball did not fall inside the cylinder.

Cover all this with a cellophane package.
Gypsum bandage for a few seconds soaked in warm water, slightly press, and begin to cover them our construction from jars, paper and ball.
First, vertically, straightening all the folds, so that the bandage smoothly and tightly facilitates our design.
Here we will use scissors to cut off the strips.
Vertically, all covered with a bandage. We start abrupting horizontally from the bottom.
Bandage is a mustache. We get to the top. Prettyly all smoothing with wet hands.
Bandage dries very quickly. And if there is no gypsum, then the Dwarca will have a rough. That is why very much bandage is not recommended.
Top places three short gypsum strips on top of a blank.
Carefully smooth with wet hands.
At this stage, you can measure the circle of the blanks. Most likely, it will already be 54 cm.
We begin to apply the next layer of bandage around the circumference of the blank. Down up.
Try that you do not see the seams of transition so that the dweller is as soon as possible.
Here you go. Bandage almost ended. Again, how to treat all the blank with wet hands and leave it to dry.
And here the Dwiper dried. I turn over its inserts "bottom", pull out of the paper, the ball and the cellophane package.
So that the dweller stood steadily, put it on the basis for the scotch, or something like that.
Plot inside with water and begin to fill in the mounting foam.
Immediately I want to warn: the foam has the ability to expand. Therefore, fill in the blank to half or slightly more and leave for a couple of hours.
If the foam starts to get out of the blanks, simply knead it inside. Do not make it bare hands, otherwise then you will have to finish them for a long time and miss.

And of course, do not allow the foam began to slide on the sides of the blanks. It will be very difficult to remove from the surface and traces from the foam will remain forever.
After a day, foam hardens. With the help of a stationery knife cut exactly the edge so that the bottom of the blanks is smooth.
With the help of a gun, squeeze the silicone sealant to the surface of the blanks and discharge it finely and evenly on all the surfaces of the blanks. It is not enough to mark the lower edges of the blanks.
Use gloves. Hermetry is a very caustic substance, very much smells of vinegar, so cover with silicone blank or on the balcony or next to the hood.
After the dweller is completely covered with silicone, it must be taken out for drying on the balcony or outside.
And here you please! Double "Tumba". She is good because it can be done with a hoist of any height.
