I decided to master the crochet on the helix, before that, I didn't have to knit so much, and I tried to tie a round rug with popcorn pattern.
On my blog, I already talked about different knitted crocheted mats. Japanese motives became especially popular. For your home, I knit both the original rug, on the basis of which I made a pillow and mats on the stools of four intertwined parts. Now I needed a rug on the veranda, and just in the networks met the idea of a rug connected by the coil on the spiral pattern of popcorn.

Usually I do not pay attention to the composition of the yarn and the hook number specified in the description of a particular model.
After all, you need to show a creative approach. And if you do not have exactly such a yarn, it is not necessary to search for it, you can take any, what you like or even use the remains of yarn from the needlework, which we usually accumulate quite a lot.
If the yarn is thin, then you can knit in two or three or four threads.
The hook we select an experienced way: a small crochet is almost impossible to knit from thick yarn, and the products associated with too large crochet will turn out to be loose.
For knitting my rug, I used a thick half-walled yarn of four colors that I had: red, salad, black, gray and hook №2.5. Instead of Salad, it would be possible to use yellow, then the rug will be more bright. I saw such a thing on the Internet.
I liked the fact that the rug is connected on the spiral and the whole consists of convex cishech.

We make a ring from 14 vp yarn of red.

We are in line with three air loops and leave the emotion of red, we take another yarn (gray) and knit another bump in the popcorn pattern and 3 VP.

Returning to the red yarn. Knit two bodies, introducing a hook under the first column of gray bumps, between them three air loops. Leave a red yarn.
Similarly, knit two bodies of other colors: gray, entering the hook under the first column black, black - under the column of salad, salad, under the red column.
So, we continue to knit a circle with a crochet over the spirals alternately different yarn, introducing a hook in the arms of air loops. In each new row I added one - two bumps to expand the series.
My rug turned out to be 50 cm.
In order to complete the knitting, the yarn of each color knit C2H, C1N, ISP, PS.
In the same technique, you can link the rug in a crochet on the spiral of the square shape, if in four corners in each row to make an increase - knit three bumps under one column of the previous row.
