Today I remembered my childhood and how we always did all sorts of crafts before the holidays and then they gave them to their relatives or friends. Today I will show you how I made a handsome leather cover with my own hands and gave it to my friend, and he really liked him!
Required materials and tools:
- Paper sheets A4 or any other paper that you will enjoy and suitable for notepad;
- A piece of leather or suede (residues or pieces of an old bags have everyone at home, if you look good, you can find a lot of good material, which simply lies without a case, because you don't know what to do with it);
- Treads for sewing dense and strong;
- scissors;
- needle big;
- sewing machine.
Preparation of the inside of the notepad
Take the cooked sheets of paper, it all depends on the size of your notepad. You can simply fold the dolly sheets in half, clearly draw the middle or trim the edges, if you want a notebook to be small.
We will collect our sheets together, we will have two little notebooks, since the machine will not be able to flash many sheets at a time, we divide them into two parts. Now we will make the stitch in the center of one part of the sheets and the second using the sewing machine.
Now we will make five equal pencil marks on our billets, on each of the parts, having previously measured everything with a ruler. We need these marks in order for us to flash our billets.

Stitching sheets notepad
Take the firmware of our billets. Take a needle with a thread (the thread should be durable and beautiful) and by moving our notebook on the marks.
Firm so that it turns out to be a beautiful seam from the same side of the notebook, as shown in the photo.
At the end, when you return to the point you started sewing, tie a dense knot and cut the ends of the thread with scissors. As a result, you will have a beautiful seam on both sides.
Getting started with leather binding
Now it's time for the last stroke - the manufacture of our cover. To do this, take, measure and cut the cover template from the sheet of paper, follow it to our workpiece of the inside of the notepad (size, select how you like, but somewhere 3-4 centimeters you need to retreat from the edge of the notepad), we will apply to our piece of skin and I cut out our cover.
Fold in half our cover and pencil drew rounded corners.
Then carefully cut them with scissors and you should get here such a beautiful leather binding for a notebook made with your own hands, with the help of simple primary means.

Our notebook is almost ready, we have left to sew our cover to the most notepad. To do this, we will apply our notebook to the cover and note the pencil on the inside of the point cover for which we will sew.

We sew our cover to the inside of the notepad neatly and so how we stitched the notebook blanks, as shown in the photo.
Collecting notepad, fold it and look if the edges of the sheets are uneven and they are very visible, then they can be cut, having previously measured the line to be smooth.
