- Polyfoam is one of the options for polystyrene - it has good characteristics for thermal insulation, but is distinguished by small strength. Therefore, needs protection - pressure does not endure. But it is worth a bit. If you lay pipes on a trench with a brick or concrete walls, it can be used.
No one prevents the reinforcement and use two layers of insulation.
- Polyurethane foam - in characteristics and price is located between polystyrene foam and foam. It is most often used for insulation of pipes.
- Foamed polyethylene (type "EnergoFlex") has good characteristics due to a large content in air bubbles.
- Glasswater is a rolled material with good thermal insulation characteristics and a relatively low price. Its disadvantage - need special measures when laying: fiberglass very prickly, and microscopic particles remove from the skin unreal. - Stone wool. She is made from basalt or slag. Basalt wool has the best characteristics, but it is expensive. The cheaper material is slapted, but it has worse characteristics - you need to take more thickness, which often reduces the material benefit to a minimum.

Mineral wool has glass gambles and stone wat - there is one significant drawback: they are hygroscopic. Binding water they lose most of their heat insulating properties. After drying, they are restored only partially. And a very unpleasant moment, if the wet mineral wool freezes, it turns into a duch. Heating
When planning a winter water supply device, you need to keep in mind that insulation only helps cut the heat loss, but cannot heal. And if at some point the frosts will be stronger, the pipe is still freezing.
